Her Story

Jenn DeSantis is a multi-talented, eclectic, Pop/Rock musical prodigy from Pennsylvania. Her piano technique is similar to that of Elton John, while the melodies she uses are described as “unconventional” by many listeners. Her music catches the eyes of top world music professionals such as Cirque Du Soleil's music director Roger Hewett, songwriter/producer Barrett Yeretsian, multi-award film composer Mark Wind, and The Beatles audio engineer Geoff Emerick. DeSantis has alternative, electronic, and classical elements to her whole performance. Her vocals are similar to Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, and Lady Gaga, while her synth skills are influenced by Yes, Tame Impala, and Depeche Mode. At the age of 3, she would listen to her dad’s classic rock albums, and then play them by ear on the piano. At age 10, she began songwriting, and a year later she self-produced originals. In middle school, she sold her first album to benefit a local child advocacy center. DeSantis sold her next album with proceeds going to Show Hope Orphanage a few years later.

DeSantis went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry at SUNY Oneonta, where she was President of the Songwriting Club and performed in multiple bands. She played in a jam band, and a rock cover band where she learned new collaboration skills from working with musicians from all different genres. During her presidency of Songwriting Club, she would hold songwriting workshops and host shows where students could perform their original pieces. One of her professors once commented, “her songwriting skills have always been so advanced”. More college opportunities allowed her to network at Grammy U Recording Academy events in Philadelphia and New York City. She also performed originals in some of the best New York City open mic venues such as Village Underground. These live venue experiences grew her confidence and helped further influence her sound. Her vision of becoming a successful musician was becoming clear, and even more so after Mark Wind, a well-known composer from Denmark, said about DeSantis “she has a unique blend of different genres that work so incredibly well, I could pick her out of thousands of artists. That is a powerful trait.”

Some highlight performances include the annual Beatles Fest 2018 in Jersey City, MIA 2018 and 2019, and opening for Trans/LGBT Icon, Ryan Cassata May 2020 at GLYS of WNY. DeSantis has been featured on, but not limited to, BroadTube Channel, Siriux XM Radio, Vision and Vibes, Blonde Records, Women of Substance, Indie Music Women, The Queer Network, BuzzMusic, Orbis Symphonia Radio, Choice Sports Boston, The Q Reviews, and Model Citizen Magazine Blog. DeSantis was also nominated for “Best Vocals” by WNY Music. She has also worked on the main soundtracks for the nonprofit movie, "Drive" which was shown at the Annual UK Film Festival. DeSantis strives to see more of her work in the film industry.

As an artist who is consistently defying the boundaries of music genres with plans to further pursue her music career in California, Jenn DeSantis is an emerging artist that will undeniably leave you eager to hear what she creates next.

I Wanna Know

I fight a lonely war, in my head

against the past that’s haunting me

Go through the motions

Fading like ghosts I was never there cup of tea

I wanna know yeah, will you still love me when the lights go out.

Ahh they’ll never go, yeah.

They’ll say the things that past me would doubt.

I feel so alive with you.

I feel so alive.

How can I ever say goodbye?

Look in the mirror

What is it that they have that I don’t have babe?

Unconventional Kid.

Kin of a different specimen.

Was I too much, or not enough?

I wanna know yeah, will you still love me when the lights go out.

Ahh they’ll never go, yeah.

They’ll say the things that past me would doubt.

I feel so alive with you.

I feel so alive.

How can I ever say goodbye?

How could I be so blind?

I wanna know yeah, will you still love me when the lights go out.

Ahh they’ll never go, yeah.
